What happens when the bank feeds connection is deleted?

Adding transactions is an efficient way to quickly create income and expense records in Rounded. When you add a credit or debit from the bank feed, an income or expense record is created in Rounded's primary income or expense sections. These income and expense records produce the various dashboard summaries and all financial reports available.

You will also see reconciliation tags in the bank feed against any credit or debit that has been added. These could be invoice numbers, green ticks or categories.

When you delete a bank feed connection, any income or expense record created via the bank feed in Rounded's primary income or expense sections will remain - reports and dashboard summaries will not be impacted.

It's important to know that deleting a bank account(s) from the bank feed will result in the loss of all transactions and reconciliation tags from the associated account(s).

Subsequently, reconnecting the bank account will reinstate the most recent transactions (typically up to 12 months), but older transactions may not reappear.

Additionally, all reconciliation tags will be permanently lost, and there is no way to retrieve them in bulk.

Bank feeds automatically refresh overnight (once every 24 hours), except for accounts that have enabled multi-factor authentication. If the bank feed is not refreshed or an error is encountered, it could be for a number of reasons, but often the situations rectify themselves.

We strongly encourage you to check with the support team before deleting your bank account connection to avoid lost transactions and reconciliation tags.

Reconnecting the bank feeds will not bring back the reconciliation tags.

If you have already deleted a bank account, please remember dashboard summaries and reports will be unaffected.

To work out the best way forward, please get in touch with the customer success team via live chat so we can review your account and discuss the best solutions for your situation.
