How to get your income and expense data into Rounded

Generally speaking, if your data is in Excel or CSV format, it's possible to import it into Rounded. The process is the same for income or expense data.

To import an income file

If it's the first time you are visiting the main Income section, you'll see the following:

Choose the Import from CSV option, and the import window will be displayed:

For income imports, download the CSV template:

  • If you're not registered for GST, click this LINK to download a sample CSV template for importing income

  • If you're registered for GST, click this LINK to download a sample CSV template for importing income

We recommend that you paste the data from the original spreadsheet into the downloaded CSV template.

Once done, save the template CSV with the added data, click Select file... choose the file, then click Import CSV to import the data.

To import an expense file

If it's the first time you are visiting the main Expense section, you'll see the following:

There are two ways to import an expense file via:

  1. CSV

  2. QIF

1. To import using a CSV file

Choose the Import from CSV option, and the import window will be displayed:

For expense imports, download the CSV template:

  • If you're not registered for GST, click this LINK to download a sample CSV template for importing expenses

  • If you're registered for GST, click this LINK to download a sample CSV template for importing expenses

We recommend that you paste the data from the original spreadsheet into the downloaded CSV template.

Once done, save the template CSV with the added data, click Select file... choose the file, then click Import CSV to import the data.

2. To import using a QIF file

Choose the Import from QIF option; a panel will slide out from the right-hand side.

Click Select a QIF file

and choose the file, then click Import now to import the data

NOTES:

  • The Date and Amount columns are required columns where the

    • The date column should have the YYYY-MM-DD format

    • The amount column should have the number format

  • The client row should contain the name of the contact name in the client card.

  • Manually importing data can be tricky, and any number of things might cause an import to fail. If you try and don't succeed, please contact us via in-app chat. We're happy to help format your data and get it into Rounded.
